My name is Jamie Baxter, and I’m from Lancaster, California. However, I grew up in the Midwest. A small town named Montpelier in Ohio is where I called home for the majority of my life. I graduated high school in 1992 and then college in 1997 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design. I worked as a freelance illustrator for many years, eventually moving to California, where I began working more with computers. As computers become more accessible in the 1990’s, so too did the software being used to create VFX. Adobe After Effects was one of the first to be considered industry ready and the most affordable. After Effects inspired me to go into the field of VFX. Almost 30 years later, I've experienced the evolution of vfx software, starting with AE all the way to Nuke.
